Galatians 6:4 NLT
For week 2 of our journey we will turn our focus towards finding our audience by finding our story. In Galatians 6:4, Paul encourages us to examine our lives in an effort to discover focus in our lives. The focus we seek this week is found in knowing the people problems we are called to solve. To that end I introduce the Conversion Testimony. This exercise is meant to help you clearly articulate your story so that you can find the clues to lead you towards a greater understanding of purpose. During this exercise you will simply write a one page testimony of your life’s journey and search for the unique patterns that emerge. What issues have you overcome? What kind of people gravitate to you? What problem in the world bothers you the most? What do you do better than most people?
To help you gain even more clarity I have included the link for Strengths Finder 2.0. This book describes the major themes that guide the lives of most people. Included with the purchase of the book is a Strengths Finder Assessment. This assessment will identify the five most prominent themes for your life. For example, one of my prominent themes shares that I am “Futuristic”. This is to say that I draw much of my inspiration by dreaming of what could be and I love inspiring others to believe with me. Knowing this helps me understand what makes me tick and who I am called to. I thrive around dreamers, those people who can unite with me around a shared vision. I encourage you to invest in yourself and your future with this tool that is sure to shed new light on the strengths you already have.
